Placeholder, Byre Theatre 6pm on Wednesday 9th February
I wanted to let you know about the second performance at 6pm on Wednesday 9th February of Placeholder, a new theatre work (premiered in Edinburgh in November 2021) set in the playhouse in Port-au-Prince one year before the beginning of the Haitian Revolution. It’s a low-budget but powerful piece that has arisen as part of my Colonial-Era Caribbean Theatre and Opera Network; it features a solo performance by Catherine Bisset who appears as both mother and daughter. The show lasts less than an hour and will be followed by a discussion session/Q&A with the team. It will be performed before a live, socially distanced audience at the Byre Theatre and simultaneously live-streamed. If you’d like to see it, you can book using the links below.
